Crafting Laughs and Bridging Gaps: Ai Yoshihara's Comedy Mission
Ai Yoshihara grew up in Japan. She was far too outspoken to express herself there. So she decided to move to America because well, feminists don’t exist in Japan.
Contrary to her expectations, she struggled with the language barrier, culture shock, and surviving alone in America. When she was at her lowest point in life, she lost her sister and biggest fan to suicide. This life-changing experience motivated her to keep the promise she made to her sister of becoming a professional Stand Up comedian. Now, Ai Yoshihara tells her tragic stories light-heartedly with a unique Asian perspective.
She appeared alongside Matthew McConaughey in Sea of Trees and was directed by Gus Van Sant. She’s been performing all over California, Phoenix, Bay Area, Seattle, Las Vegas and Florida. She recently featured for Paris Sashay and Lara Beitz at the House of Comedy in Phoenix.
